Tournament Access Instructions

Upon registering for a National Esports Association Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament, an access pass or "digital ticket" will be sent to the email address you indicated during registration. Check your email to make sure the "ticket" was sent. If you cannot find it, check your junk/spam folder. If you still cannot find it, please contact the NEA so we can resend it to you.

Your access pass ("ticket") will contain the name of the event you have registered for, the time and location, the type of "ticket", whether or not you used an NEA Membership Discount (if applicable), your name, and the date you registered.

The bottom portion of your access pass will contain event-specific information, including the tournament access code that will grant you entry in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Here's how to use a tournament access code in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:

1 - Turn on your Nintendo Switch

2 - Ensure you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription and are connected to the internet

3 - Open Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

4 - On the main menu of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, scroll to Online Play and select 1p

5 - Scroll to and select Tournaments

6 - Scroll to and select Search by Code

7 - Enter the tournament code indicated at the bottom of your access pass (no dashes required)

8 - Click Join to play or View Standings to see the tournament leader board... you can also view the tournament rules and settings on this screen

NOTE: if you attempt to join the tournament outside of the indicated play times, you will be put in a practice lobby that will NOT count towards your tournament score. At least 2 players are needed for a lobby to begin racing.
